Back in Nicaragua

Thank you, thank you to those who were praying for our travels back to Nicaragua!
Emily and Lucy enjoying our new place

We had quite the adventure coming into Managua.  There were heavy thunderstorms and just before we landed, the pilots suddenly pulled up as if we were taking off again!  They later came on the intercom and said "We're going to land in Costa Rica."  We were on the ground in San Jose, Costa Rica for about an hour and a half before given the clear to fly to Managua.  Instead of getting in at midnight, we got in about 3:30 am.  Nevertheless, we're very thankful for God's protection in that whole experience!  We are very thankful to have made it back safely and with all of our children and luggage.  The only casualty was Emily's bear blanket that somehow got left on the plane.
We've now been back for two weeks.  And it has been two weeks full of adjustments, living in between houses, and "re-learning" some things.  It was a bit crazy for four days to be living in our former house amidst things that were boxed up for storage, suitcases everywhere, and kids sleeping in various places on mattresses on the floor.

Last weekend we moved into the house next door to us.  Our friends, the Deibert's, had just moved back to the states and while their house is a nicer set up for our now larger family, we are missing these friends dearly.  Their boys were playmates of David's and its so sad to see them gone.

Everyone loves the hammock
Thank you again for your prayers!  They were and are felt in very tangible ways!

Answers to prayer:

  • Smooth travels with three kiddos and safety in flight
  • A couple from our church here just showed up on moving day to bring cold drinks and take the three kids off our hands for a few hours!
  • A handful of friends helped us move and unpack boxes!
  • Our dog, Bella, was safe is back with us
  • All kids (including almost 9 month old Lucy) sleeping through the night
Lucy meeting our dog, Bella
Please continue to pray for:
  • Energy and motivation in the midst of going through boxes and setting up house
  • Sanity and thankful attitudes to do the above while caring for three kids
  • Safety from snakes, scorpions and other critters (we killed two scorpions in our first 24 hours)
  • Our adjustment individually and as a family
  • Good neighbors to move into our old house (maybe even with kids!)
