24 hours left in Nicaragua

In 24 hours we will be on an airplane headed to a different world.  We’ll say goodbye to Nicaragua, our home of twelve years, and in a few weeks say hello to a new one in Littleton, Colorado. In case you hadn’t heard, our family is moving to Colorado where Luke will be studying at Denver Seminary.  He will begin a three year program to earn an Master of Divinity in Youth and Family Ministries and hopes to use his degree in some sort of pastoral capacity in the future (whether youth, associate, missions or other). These past twelve school years hold a lot of memories of the many students who are near to our hearts. A Look Back at Some NCA Memories By: Luke

August 2004 – First Day of School Not only was it my first day teaching at NCA, but it was the first time that NCA shortened classes to allow the second part of the day to be filled with a special chapel, free lunch and team building activities. This was the first day that we played the now famous Tape Game. March 2005 – Egon’s Coke The funniest memory of teaching came from Franz’s older brother, Egon. He walked into my Bible class and I noticed that the front center of his shirt was all wet, so I asked him what happened. He replied, “Mister. I was drinking my coke (with his right hand) and then Kevin asked me what time it was.” As he was saying this he demonstrated with his right hand holding a open coke bottle and turning his wrist towards himself to check his watch, which caused him to dump his coke on himself. 2005 – 2006 – No Power, No Generators Before NCA invested into buying generators, when the power went out, it was out.
