First Haircut!

 The Before Picture      The After Picture   Goodbye, curls!     For awhile we had been putting off the inevitable: baby's first haircut.  Finally, when the curls had officially been deemed out of control, we decided to trim the locks!  Luke did a great job of cutting hair while this little one year old squirmed around!     Hello, little boy haircut!   

Adventures of a 1 year old

Who knew the world could be so much fun?   It seems, in the eyes of this one year old, that the world is his playground.  Anything and everything is game.  Each day he is gaining more confidence and speed with walking.  Watch out, Mom!   Here are some snapshots of David and what he's been up to lately. Contained... ...for a moment. Disclaimer: picture taken when Mom was not home. Current likes:  food, other kids, cars ("vroom vroom"), being chased, more food, reading books, playing with Duplo blocks, climbing stairs, going outside, dogs, more food, throwing things. Current dislikes: diaper changing, end of bath time, going down for a nap. Current abilities: walking, signing "please", recognizing the following words: toys, books, car, bath, tent, blocks, ball, friend, juice, fan.     

Big shoes to fill...

David trying on Daddy's shoes. David has been interested in shoes lately.  Not only does he like to play with them, but he also knows that they go on feet.  So, he has been trying them on.  When I snapped this shot, I couldn't help but think to myself that this little boy has big shoes to fill! His dad is a great example of committed love, servanthood, and faithfulness.  Luke loves his family and desires to be a father who teaches, encourages, and leads his son in the ways of Christ.  Luke also daily demonstrates his commitment and passion for leading the youth at Nicaragua Christian Academy.  When it comes to being a husband, Luke loves to surprise and cherish his wife, make her laugh, and strive to lead with humility and integrity.  As a friend, you can always count on Luke to speak truth and to be up for most any adventure.      David, sorry to break it to you, but it will take m...
