"famNfun"

"famNfun" was an event hosted by our Youth Group a few weeks ago.  It had never been done before and we were thrilled by it's success!  As our youth were starting to raise money for World Vision's 30 Hour Famine (happening this weekend, by the way), we wanted to give them a unique opportunity to fundraise.

So, instead of regular Youth Group on October 19th, we hosted a "famNfun" night, inviting families in our community.  The youth really took it away and impressed us with their participation and creativity!

It was great to see a ton of people come out on that Friday night and enjoy all the activities that the youth had planned.  There was everything from a cake walk to hair braiding to a fun and silly photo booth to Korean food to face painting to video games to yummy baked goods for sale.  You name it and it was done.  The best part was seeing the community come together and young and old alike having a wonderful time!

The band had fun playing requested songs!

The estimated total of money raised was a little over $2,100! We are proud of our kids and look forward to the culmination of all their fundraising efforts and preparation for the 30 Hour Famine.

Would you be in prayer for the 30 Hour Famine this Friday and Saturday (November 2 and 3)? So far, there are over 85 students signed up and excited to participate!

Please also pray for my husband as he coordinates everything. He loves what he does! And especially be praying that hearts would seek the Lord and respond in obedience to the Holy Spirit during this challenging weekend of going without food for 30 hours. To Him be all the praise and glory!
